St. Kitts island loop by scooter
The whole way round.
Out of Basseterre, up the west coast past Brimstone Hill, around the northern tip, then back down the Atlantic side past Black Rocks. The longest route we plan, and the only one that goes the whole way round.

Starts and ends at Port Zante or Basseterre.
Not a cruise-day ride. Once you are past the northern tip, turning back costs as much time as carrying on. On a ship day, take Timothy Hill or Cockleshell Beach instead.

- 02Romney ManorRomney Manor and Caribelle Batik, on the west coast. Closes at 3:00pm, and all day Sunday.
- 03Brimstone HillThe access road up to the fortress is steep, winding and about one lane wide. Take it slowly. There is a fuel station just past the turn.
- 04The northern tipRound the top of the island. No fuel station is mapped through Dieppe Bay or Saddlers.
- 05Black RocksVolcanic coastline on the Atlantic side. Free, with no gate and no set hours.
- 06Back to BasseterreDown the Atlantic side. The next fuel is near Cayon, about 24 km after the Brimstone Hill station.

Three places on the loop are worth getting off the scooter for.
Plan aroundRomney Manor closes at 3:00pm and is shut on Sundays, and on Saturdays from May to October. Brimstone Hill is open later, to 5:30pm: leave time to walk the fortress, not just photograph it from the road. Hours move with the season, so ring ahead. We took them from each operator’s own published information.

How long does it take to ride around St. Kitts?
About 1.5 to 2 hours of riding, and 3.5 to 4.5 hours with stops, for the 52 km (about 32 miles) loop.
Can I do the island loop on a cruise day?
Usually not, and Revura will not plan it for a short call. It takes 3.5 to 4.5 hours with stops, and it is committing once you are past the northern tip.
