Rider requirements
Revura rents to experienced riders only. This page sets out what that means. It also keeps three kinds of rule apart: what the law requires, what an insurer requires, and what Revura requires.
To rent from Revura you need recent riding experience, a valid driving licence from home, a local temporary licence where the law requires one, photo identification, and a pass on the short control check at handover. Revura’s minimum renter age is [minimum age]. Which rules are law, and which are ours?
Rental companies blur these together, and the visitor is left unable to tell a legal requirement from a house policy. Revura labels every rule on this page as one of the three below.
Legal requirements
Set by St. Kitts and Nevis law and enforced by the authorities. Neither Revura nor you can waive them.
Insurer requirements
Conditions attached to the cover on the scooter. Breaking one can remove cover even where nothing illegal has happened.
Revura operating rules
Our own rules. Some are stricter than the law, on purpose. We apply them to every rental.

Insurer requirements
An insurer attaches these conditions to the cover on the scooter. Break one and you can end up personally liable, even though you have broken no law.
Revura operating rules
These rules are ours. They carry no legal force and we will not dress them up as law. We set them because a small fleet and a rider who has never seen these roads leave little margin for a bad call.
Experienced riders only
You need real riding experience on a scooter or motorcycle, and it has to be recent:

When do we refuse a rental?
We would rather say this here than at the pickup point. If any of these apply, please do not book.
We will not hand over the scooter if
- You have not ridden a scooter or motorcycle before, or not recently
- You cannot complete the practical control check
- Your licence does not cover you, or the temporary licence is missing
- You are under the minimum age, or over any applicable maximum
- You appear to have been drinking, or are unfit to ride
- The combined weight exceeds the limit
- The rider at pickup is not the rider named on the booking
- The road or weather conditions make riding unsafe

What happens if we refuse
A refused rental costs us both a day. We would rather find the problem at booking than at handover, which is why we ask the qualification questions up front.
If you are not sure whether you qualify, ask before you pay. It takes a couple of messages.
Requirement questions
It is the right starting point. What is left is riding on the left, roads you do not know and a scooter you have never sat on. The control check and the route conversation at handover cover those, and the safety page goes into the road conditions.
Yes. It takes a few minutes and it covers this particular scooter. Riders who handle a big bike every weekend still find the throttle response and the braking balance different enough to be worth the check.
