Route
St. Kitts Island Loop
The island loop is the full circuit: out of Basseterre, up the west coast past Brimstone Hill, around the northern tip, then back down the Atlantic side past Black Rocks. It is the longest route we plan, and the only one that goes the whole way round.
The island loop is roughly [distance] and takes about [riding time] in the saddle, or [total time] once you stop. Treat it as a stay-over ride. It does not fit inside a typical cruise call, and Revura will not plan it for one.
ROUTE MAP REQUIRED
Ideally traced from the GPS recording of the actual ride, not drawn from memory.

Riding on the left, roundabouts, rain and what to do after a breakdown apply on every route, so they live in one place: riding a scooter in St. Kitts.
Where can you stop, and what does it cost?
Three places on the loop are worth getting off the scooter for. Here is what each one charges, when it opens, and whether it has parking, food and a restroom.
| Stop | Parking | Entry fee | Opening hours | Restrooms | Food |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Brimstone Hill Fortress | parking | US$15 for adults, half price for children 12 and under, EC$10 for residents with government photo ID | Open daily 9:30am to 5:30pm | restrooms | food |
| Black Rocks | parking | Free, no admission charge | Open access, no gate and no set hours. The souvenir stalls and eateries on site keep their own hours. | restrooms | food |
| Romney Manor and Caribelle Batik | parking | US$3 for adults, free for children 11 and under, US$2 for residents | Monday to Friday 9:00am to 3:00pm. Saturday 9:00am to 1:00pm, November to April. Closed Sundays year round, and Saturdays May to October. | restrooms | food |
Romney Manor closes at 3:00pm and is shut every Sunday. It is also closed on Saturdays from May to October, and its Saturday winter hours end at 1:00pm. If your ship is in port on a Sunday, Romney Manor cannot be part of your loop at all.
Brimstone Hill runs later, to 5:30pm, though a cruise-day return deadline tends to bite first. To walk the fortress rather than photograph it from the road, take the 8:30am collection, not the 11:30am.
We took the hours and fees above from each operator’s own published information on [last checked date]. Hours move with the season. Ring ahead before you build a day around them.
Cruise visitors: read this first
The loop commits you. Once you are past the northern tip, turning back costs you as much time as carrying on. That is the wrong property for a ride with a hard deadline.
| Minimum hours ashore | minimum hours ashore |
| Latest safe turnaround | turnaround point |
| Return buffer | 90 minutes, as on every cruise-day rental |
If your call is shorter than that, take the shorter Timothy Hill or Cockleshell Beach routes instead. You will see more and watch the clock less.

These four slots take photographs from the ride itself, shot at the places they name. Stock pictures of St. Kitts would tell you nothing about this road.
Island loop questions
Usually not, and Revura will not plan it for a short call. It needs [minimum hours ashore] and it is committing once you are past the northern tip.
